El Haz en Fuga
New Scientific Music Scale based on the Rational mean.
The very long story of myths and decrees in Music:
Brocot Sequences
Starting with the values:
0/1 1/0
representing:
Zero and Infinite
Brocot Sequences are generated by successively calculating the Mediant; that way, all the reduced rational numbers are generated.
The Mediant is a particular case of the Rational mean that operates only with reduced rational numbers.
Based on the number of peaks, amplitude variations, and the modulation effect, each fraction of the Brocot sequences is used as the frequency ratio of two-sounds chords for calculating the dissonance index.
There are various ways to calculate the dissonance index for more than two sounds. The Modulator-Carrier expression for that case is shown in the book, and the method for calculating the index is similar to the two-sounds case and pretty straightforward.
The New Music Scale
Video Description
(English Subtitles):
New Musical Scale that is not based on the ancient Octave concept.
First video Description:
Aulos La otra Luz. New Music Scale
*Time: 0:00 – 17:28 *
Brief description of all the myths and decrees that supported “music theory” from the time of Pythagoras up to now. Consonance theory must be founded on a solid scientific base, which has not been the case since the creation of the first musical scale.
Difference between the effect of chords Consonance and our particular perception or preference for some melody and rhythm. This work deals only with the Consonance of chords which is a measurable physical phenomenon.
*Time: 17:28 – 21:14*
The importance of the interval 1-3 before the Octave interval. The division of the dominion of sounds.
*Time: 21:15 – 28:37*
Description of the Modulator-Carrier equation for any two-sound chord. Comparing chords 2:1 and 3:1.
The number of amplitude peaks of the resultant wave of any two-sound chord.
An increase in the number of amplitude peaks and their variations produces more stress and an unpleasant sensation for the ears. Some brief comments on the Temporal Resolution and the Temporal Modulation Function.
Comments on the Modulator-Carrier equation for chords with any number of sounds.
*Time: 28:38 – 33:34*
A brief description of the calculation of a Dissonance Index based on the Modulator-Carrier equation, and the number of peaks and amplitude variations (including the Modulation effect), as previously described.
Determination of the most consonant two-sound chords within the interval 1-3
*Time: 33:35 – 35:04*
The new Scale: El Tríplice.
*Time: 35:05 – End*
